Trump at the Oval Office meeting. What the cameras caught on camera is incredible.
Another White House slip-up and further questions about the US leader’s fitness. Recent reports suggest that Donald Trump may be increasingly struggling to maintain focus – especially at key moments.
The Iran crisis consumes Trump. The White House isn’t sleeping
For Donald Trump, recent weeks have been marked by an exceptionally tense international situation related to the conflict in the Middle East. The escalation began on February 28, when the United States, together with Israel, conducted airstrikes on targets in Iran, including the capital, Tehran. In response, Iran launched retaliatory attacks, attacking not only Israel but also targets in the Persian Gulf states, significantly increasing the risk of a regional war.
After several weeks of intense military action, a ceasefire came into effect on April 8, leading to a cessation of direct attacks. The ceasefire was initially intended to last for two weeks, but – as announced by the US administration – it was extended indefinitely by Donald Trump. Despite this, the situation remains far from stable, and the prospects for a lasting peace agreement are unclear.
The greatest tensions currently center around the Strait of Hormuz – one of the world’s most important oil transport routes.
Iranian forces have almost completely restricted maritime traffic there, prompting a response from the United States, which in turn is conducting blockades of Iranian ports. In recent days, reports have emerged of further incidents, including attacks on commercial vessels and detentions by the US Navy.
In this context, the US president’s activity has been particularly intense. Trump is participating in numerous meetings with military advisors and security experts, trying to maintain the delicate balance between escalation and de-escalation of the conflict.
The enormity of his responsibilities and the pressure of managing one of the most serious geopolitical crises in recent months may explain his apparent fatigue, which is increasingly becoming a subject of public discussion.
